Regular dental visits are important, and so is addressing dental issues that may cause you pain or discomfort, either now or sometime in the future. Some people hold themselves back from receiving dental care because they’re nervous about going into the office. They may feel apprehensive or unsure about what’s going on, or perhaps they have a low pain tolerance. In these situations, Drs. Kelishadi and Davani may recommend some type of sedative. Our dentists may also suggest sedation if you have a relatively long procedure ahead of you. During these long periods of time, it may be difficult for you to control yourself if you’re full of energy. Being sedated can make you calmer and more receptive to our instructions.

After you’re sedated, you’ll feel very relaxed. You’ll still be awake and will be able to breathe normally and respond to our questions and directions, but everything will feel a little more pleasant. When you’re comfortable, we can better concentrate on our task at hand.
