Post-Braces Teeth Care

Life after Braces
After months or years of wearing braces, it is a huge relief when they are finally removed. There is still maintenance that needs to be done post-braces. Some of the upkeep is permanent but a small price to pay for a stunning smile.
Your retainer will become a permanent part of your teeth care routine after your braces are removed. If they are not worn regularly, your teeth will shift back to their original position before treatment. Many dentists encourage their patients to wear them nightly while some suggests a few days out of the week is fine. Make sure you discuss your options with your dentist.
Take Care of Your Gums
Those who wore wire braces may notice their gums are in need of a little love. Flossing becomes very difficult when you have wire braces in your mouth which means that your gums may be slightly puffy after your braces come off. Relieve the puffiness by rinsing your mouth out 3 times a day with warm salt water.
Let Your Teeth Sparkle
Your teeth may be a little duller than you imagine when your braces come off. Again, the wires and brackets may have gotten in the way of cleaning. A teeth whitening is the perfect solution.
Schedule a Dentist Appointment
The best aftercare for your teeth is by regularly seeing your dentist. Not only will your doctor conduct a much needed post-braces cleaning but will spot any issues that could undo all of your hard work.
